Saving money: a trip to the Outlet by E.L.S.

I’ll continue with my Disney 2K17 series on Monday, but today I’ll share a money-saving location folks in the San Gabriel Valley and beyond have been visiting for 20 years: the Outlet by ELS.

I visited the store once at its former Monrovia location years ago. I was expecting my youngest at the time, so I can’t remember what I went in for or whether I purchased anything. Since 2012, The Outlet has been located in Azusa at 880 S. Azusa Ave., on the northeast corner of Azusa Avenue and Arrow Hwy.

The Outlet receives and sells items from multiple retailers, making it feel like a super-warehouse-outlet-store. Inside we found items from our favorites, Costco and Target. The dress shown below was one Sami found at the San Dimas Costco a few months ago. I didn’t purchase it for her at the time, but today we happened to find it in her size and at a discount. At Costco, the dress by Jona Michelle would have been 18.99. At the Outlet, it was marked down to 12.99, with an additional 25 percent off, bringing it down to $9.74 plus tax. We found a few other items as well: a Shark professional vacuum for $60 (to replace my seven-year-old Shark lift away that’s currently being held together by duct tape), a refurbished Ninja kitchen system for $109, Eva NYC shampoos, and food and clothing items.

Just some of the items we picked up. We also bought more snack items and some cute baby outfits for upcoming showers.

The Outlet accepts cash, Debit/credit cards, and checks with valid ID. A note with regard to returns: all sales are final. Clothing can be exchanged within 14 days of purchase. Electronics have 30 days to be exchanged for store credit.

In total, including tax, we spent $293.88. Not bad for a blender, a vacuum, clothing, and plenty of food!
